Consider the CX-5 just underwent a major overhaul for the 2017 model year, it will likely be a while before we see any more big-time updates. However, that doesn’t make the 2019 Mazda CX-5 in Savannah GA any less exciting. Plus, just because there aren’t any major updates, doesn’t mean that Mazda can’t introduce new things. Like the brand-new Signature trim level, for instance, which is joining the CX-5 lineup this year!
Must like the Signature trim levels for the CX-9 and Mazda6, the 2019 CX-5 Signature adds a number of elegant upgrades to the design while enhancing some of the features that come standard in the trim level as well. In addition to the new trim level, Mazda has also added several new technologies to the list of features available and standard in the CX-5, which you can read more about below.
Let’s start by giving you the rundown on what else is new in the 2019 CX-5. The display audio system in the new CX-5, which is a 7” full-color touchscreen, now features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. But that’s not all that’s new in the CX-5. 2019 also brings with it a reconfigurable 7” gauge display, ventilation in the front seating, power-folding side mirrors and a 4-year traffic and travel link subscription to SiriusXM satellite radio.
But we’re not done yet. Mazda has also introduced a second engine option to choose from in the CX-5. Joining the SKYACTIV-G 2.5L 4-cylinder engine is the award-winning SKYACTIV-G 2.5L turbocharged engine found in the CX-9 and Mazda6. Generating 227 horsepower alongside 310 pound-feet of torque, this option is a beast.
